from the truth. Now it is possible to cruise by Nile steamer
along lake Nasser and through lower Nubia.
Since
the construction of the High Dam at Aswan, the Nile beyond
the dam had effectively been cut off to navigation. Now lake
Nasser are completely different from other parts of the river
which require very shallow drafts, the new vessel was not
hampered at all by these restrictions & was especially
designed & constructed for these deeper waters.
The
result of these efforts is the luxury vessel M/S Nubian Sea
which now plies this part of the Nile on a Cruise, affording
the visitor views of the Nile not seen for many decades.
